How do I clean stone?
We recommend using cleaning products made specifically for stone materials. Do not use abrasive materials like steel wool, scrapers, or harsh cleaners as this will damage the surface of your stone. Do not use products that contain lemon juice, vinegar, or other acids on marble, travertine, or limestone as these will damage the surface of your stone. Check your installation materials and warranty for product-specific cleaning instructions. Below are room-specific methods of cleaning stone.
- Floor: Sweep interior floors often using a dry dust mop to remove any sand, dirt, or debris that could potentially scratch the surface of your flooring. Be sure to use rugs at entryways to trap incoming dirt and debris from outside. We recommend using cleaners and soaps specifically made for stone materials.
- Bathroom: Use a squeegee to remove soap scum in a shower install, and do not use harsh disinfectants or generic mildew stain removers. We recommend using products intended for cleaning stone materials.
- Patio: Flush the area with clean water and use a mild bleach solution to remove algae or moss.
