What is a patina?
A wood patina is blend of aging, such as dusting and waxing, along with sun exposure and oxidation of the wood that creates a bronze-like luster. Different species of wood have different levels of reaction to the light, resulting in different levels of color change. This adds to the natural character of wood flooring and is a one of a kind evolution of the pigmented color. The patina process change is normal but can be minimized by limiting direct sun exposure.
