• Maximum coverage is even more valuable in cases where bond failure is more prevalent, such as large format tile installations, thin slabs (1/8” – 5/16”), high moisture areas such as pools & spas, and installations subject to extremes in temperature (i.e., exterior installations such outdoor floors, facades). Maximum coverage is the key to avoiding the detachment of tiles from the support.
• Superior adhesive bonding also increases the efficiency of floor heating systems since it removes air pockets that inhibit the transfer of heat to the flooring. The rounded shape of the notch reduces the chance of the thin-set “binding” and ripping away the ridges while troweling. The thin-set does not bind in the rounded corners of this notch, so the thin-set ridges stay intact.
